Capital City Investigations was started in 2005 by retired law enforcement officers, and serves the Tallahassee and Big Bend area of Florida.
Rick Kolodgy, the president and co-founder of Capital City Investigations, retired from the Miami-Dade Police Department in 2005, after 31 years of service. During his tenure with the Miami-Dade Police Department, Mr. Kolodgy was assigned to a variety of investigative positions including, Homicide, General Investigations, Internal Affairs and the Central District Narcotics Task Force.
While assigned to various investigative units, Mr. Kolodgy spent thousands of hours conducting surveillances and investigating major crimes. During his assignment to Internal Affairs, Mr. Kolodgy was part of an elite unit which investigated several high profile cases and conducted thousands of hours of surveillance. In addition to personally conducting investigations, Mr. Kolodgy was also responsible for training and supervising other investigators.
During his tenure with the Miami-Dade Police Department, Mr. Kolodgy conducted investigations in conjunction with numerous investigative agencies, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, the Florida Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco, and numerous local law enforcement agencies.
